The longest day ever!

Today I had a hectic day..

It started out my plans didn't go out as they were planned. I ended up swimming at Gelora Bung Karno at 11am instead of 9am, but I finished around 1pm. Being there really really reminds me of the Linkin Park Concert on 21st September 2011. I practically fainted at the 'festival' area for lacking oxygen, and got carried to the ambulances. When the concert ended, gosh I got to shake hands with Rob Bourdon!!! I WILL NEVER EVER EVER EVER FORGET THIS EXPERIENCE!!!!

Okay back to topic, so I swam and had lunch with a friend of mine called Tomy. Yes I know he's a guy, but people don't judge yet (I have tons of male friends compared to female friends). We hanged out and ate lunch at Obonk Steakhouse until 3pm, I ordered the Double Crispy Chicken Steak =D

While waiting news from my other friend, Ronald (yes another guy). Tomy had to leave first because he has something else to do, so I asked him to drop me at Mal Taman Anggrek so that I could charge my phone again for a while (I hate my Blackberry battery, it only lasts for 5 hours now ughh). Then I met Ronald around 4pm and went to a japanese restaurant around there called 'Sushi Miya8i' (read: Sushi Miyabi) with his friend.

This is my review:

The prices there are expensive (compared to Ippekke Komachi which tastes much better also), and they don't taste as great. Salmon Sashimi costs Rp 35.000 for 5 freaking slices! You could get 3 slices for around Rp 10.000 at Ipekke Komachi. And the service is bad.. I only got my Iced Ocha refilled once, and when I asked for another refill they told me the cold one has finished and offered hot one instead. Is it that hard to put ice in it??? Then I complied and asked for the hot ocha instead (I don't freaking care anymore I'm damn thirsty), but they continued to ignore me for the rest of the evening and didn't bother to refill my glass despite my request (twice).

Don't blame me if I keep asking for refill, you charge Rp 10.000 for just a glass of Cold Ocha. I could get it for free at Ipekke Komachi, and they even offer you refill sometimes. UNLIMITED! Moreover, the wasabi has no taste AT ALL! This place gets on my nerves.

Bottom line, Sushi Miya8i is a no-no for me. It's at the top of my restaurant blacklist.

So I went back to Ronald's place and hanged out there, he has some 7-eleven Sour Ribbon Candy from Singapore =D My favorite is the green one (apple I suppose?). It goes a loooong way back, when I just met Ronald. He was visiting my house when I offered him some Sour Ribbon Candy my sister got from Singapore, and since then he has been addicted to it ever since =)).

So it was getting late, around 8pm. Ebong and Madhong were going to eat at an indian restaurant called Ganesha Ek Sanskriti at Menara BRI 9th floor, Semanggi. I decided to join them, so Ronald took me there and dropped me off (THANK YOU! =D) The food there was nice, but I forgot to take pictures =( but I love the drinks.. Every time I eat at an indian restaurant, I always try their Strawberry Lassi and Manggo Lassi and theirs was great (compared to Komala's at Sarinah).

After that, the journey home..
Today has been a tiring day.. Goodnight =)

Saturday Shopping

I went to Mal Kelapa Gading with my mom today, and on our way to QQ Kopitiam there's a HUUUUGEEE Hush Puppies Sale! I ended up buying a pair of heels even though I didn't have a budget for new shoes =( Just imagine, a pair of heels that usually costs Rp 999.000 ended up being Rp 399.000. How can I resist... And it feels so good on my legs.

And then we ate at QQ Kopitiam, I personally LOVE the Mie Kangkung Terasi there. And I also ordered Kaya & Butter Toast with Kopi Tarik Peng. I also prefer the second floor because it's less crowded and has a HUGE fan above that feels like a strong wind is blowing (which is kinda nice).

My favorite drink, Kopi Tarik Peng. I heard the Teh Tarik Peng is great too but I haven't tried.

Then we headed to Watsons to get me some sunblock for my swimming activity tomorrow and for Bali. I ended up overspending because of the crazy sale going on.

In the evening I met up with Ebong and her boyfriend Madhong at Pizza Marzano, Mal Kelapa Gading. Food overloading today..

Turquoise Jacket - X8

While I'm typing this post, I'm currently hanging out at a public WiFi spot at J.Co, Mall of Indonesia. Alone. Confused as what to do for the next hour while waiting for my bestie Ebong that's on her way here.

These past 2 weeks, I have tried the Hatha Yoga class twice. And compared to Body Balance (which is a mix of Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates), Hatha Yoga is much more cruel. But I love it! Probably because I don't really like Pilates, but yoga moves really concentrates on your thighs which is my priority.

Oh yeah, and I bought a turquoise colored jacket at X8 in Mall of Indonesia, Ground Floor. Me and Ebong like shopping there, the price is quite reasonable with our member discount of 10% and birthday discount of 30%. I got my jacket for around Rp 279.000,- which is quite cheap for a good quality jacket.

I then went to the gym earlier this evening to take a quick swim, hoping *fingers crossed* that maybe a cute guy will ask for my number or something. But the pool was full with small kids with their parents/grandparents (turns out people living in the Penthouse in MOI have access to the same pool for Gold's Gym), and I thought it will be quiet since today it's a public holiday here in Indonesia.

Yes it's called Idul Adha, a special occasion for the muslims praying and sacrificing some animals. Usually goats and cows, and by tradition the head of the family must use knifes and kill the animals themselves by slitting their throats. Honestly I find that cruel =(

Some people already left the city since yesterday to visit their families outside of Jakarta, or maybe just take a short vacation. So the population in Jakarta is temporarily decreasing.

Oh well, so it makes this a long weekend. But I don't have anything much planned for this weekend, that's why I decided to take a swim today. I'll probably join the morning Body Balance class in the gym tomorrow, and I have a photograph session with a friend (I will post pics here as soon as it's done =D) on Sunday. Hope it turns out well!

What a weekend.. Wait what?

I watched 2 movies in the cinema this weekend! They were okay.. But makes me wonder why movies nowadays are depressing to watch. Not that it's that bad, but they weren't 'COOL!' or 'AWESOME!'.

So here are the movies I watched.

Looper: Gave me a slight headache not because of the movie, but the story was exhausting.
Dredd: Seriously? The whole movie was just in one god damn tower.

Life is...

I stumbled upon a dear friend online, and we chatted after being quite busy ourselves for these past few weeks. I had my phone repaired, which took two long weeks without my proper communication device (blackberry messenger, mobile yahoo messenger, mobile skype messenger, whatsapp) with no numbers I could contact.

I was told my blog was quickly populating, and he'll be sure to read every bit of my posts even though I know sometimes I just pour out every single bit of unimportant things into this blog. I have determined to keep on improving my blog! (comments and critics are welcomed, please be nice =P)

I have always thought of 'life' like a spinning wheel, we have our ups and downs (reflected clearly in my posts). I always think that life will always get better, because we can't always keep on going down. But our chat today made me think of 'life' in another level, something I never thought of before.

"Life is a high entropy system which tend to have a chaotic tendency in probabilistic theory. If A is X, and B is Y, then C may be Z with unknown probability. Second lemma, life is only inside your head. For example, an apple is an apple if my head agrees it is an apple. Substitute apple with problem, a problem is a problem if my head agrees it is a problem. It's a conditional probability. It all makes sense now, my love of mathematics and physics lead me to 'believe' this new theory. My head needs polishing, I haven't been using my brain for anything useful these past few years. I feel like rusting. So here's a picture I made.....

I'll be having Body Balance class this evening, and hopefully I can join the class after that too which is Hatha Yoga with my buddy Ebong (I doubt she could stand joining 2 classes in a row). And I think I'll go swimming tomorrow, alone I guess....

I'm bad in swimming, I remember vaguely I was good at swimming when I was like 5 or 6 years old. And then I stopped swimming for around 3 years, and when I tried swimming again I suck! How could I forget?!

And I have this phobia too, thinking a shark will come out and eat me every time I swim with my head underwater. I prefer not wearing goggles, as I can see the emptiness in the deep waters and it scares me. Although I know it is nonsense, that everything is just in my head I just can't seem to overcome this phobia of mine. How could a god damn shark appear out of nowhere in a swimming pool??

Breathe Laura.. Breathe.. It's not possible for a shark to be at a swimming pool..

Does anybody have this kind of phobia too?

Places

Lots of people kept asking me if I wanted to go to Universal Studio in Singapore, my answer is a straight NO. I've never been there, nor do I want to waste a hundred over dollars to go there. I would rather put the money to good use and fill my stomach with foods that I'll never get to taste back in Indonesia.

List of food in Singapore I really really miss:
1. Otak-Otak: I love how it is in Singapore, red, hot and spicy. So different from the so called 'otak-otak' in Indonesia.
2. Dragon's Beard: Peanuts wrapped with powder-coated sugar.
3. Laksa: I used to eat this everyday in school when I was in Primary 1 in River Valley Primary School.
4. Prawn Noodle: It's my favorite!!! I love how the dark soup leaves a kind of scent in your mouth, and the last time I ate it in Singapore it's served with Bak-Kut.
5. Custard Horn/Happy Stick: I used to buy in a shop (I forgot the name) near Cold Storage in East Coast. It's pastry with custard filling, best served cold. I can't find anything like it in Indonesia.
6. BBQ Stingray: Squeeze lemon juice before serving, eat with chilli so damn good...
7. Sunflower Chocolate: Me and my sis used to buy this in the MRT station after school, I can finish it in one day LOL.
8. Nasi Briyani: Red colored rice with indian spices, so hot and spicy I used to call it 'Nasi Pedes'.
9. Apple Pie from McDonalds: cannot find in Indonesia!
10. Hai Nan Ji Fan: Chicken Rice with Roasted Chicken and Chicken Stock Soup. Yummm.. Best served with Chilli Sauce and Wan Sui..

And I bet after buying those stuff above, I would still spend less money than going to Universal Studios! HA!

But maybe the biggest reason that I'm not interested to go to Universal Studio is because I'm simply not interested at all. I've been to Disney World, Disney Land, Universal Studio (US), Genting, etc. Not meaning to boast, but I have been to 'those kinds' of recreational places and I'm not planning to invest money that I work hard to get just to go to Universal Studio. Please..

I prefer roaming around countries, traveling and seeing places. If I could go anywhere in the world now (all expenses paid for), I would choose to go to the UK. Why? Because I've never been there, and I love British. LOL =P

Places I want to visit (sorted by priority):
1. UK
2. France
3. Rome
4. Italy
5. Japan
6. Australia

But for staying I guess I would prefer the US, I don't know why but I feel cozy there. If not then maybe either the UK, anywhere with English as their main language. =D

I feel so tired now, have not been sleeping much last night..
Gotta head home and sleep for 12 hours! See ya..

Somehow I am missing that particular person, a person I don't have the right to miss. And I'm pretty sure that person has totally forgotten me, like I was never really anything important at all. Just a phase passing by, something that should've never existed in the first place. This kind of thought is killing me slowly inside, even though I know I don't deserve it. Nobody should deserve this kind of feeling.

I really feel like my emotion at this state is in the combination of a paragraph in Ingrid Michaelson's song, Incredible Love and James Morrison's song, You Give Me Something.

Sometimes I wonder if meeting that person was a mistake, or if being apart so soon is the best thing that should happen to me. Because even then if it worked out, I never knew what it would become like. I don't even know if I would be happy anyways, there's no guarantee in life. Life will be better.. It always does..

Sweet Tooth

Today I went to Mal Kelapa Gading and was feeling like eating something sweet, so I decided to buy some Portugese Egg Tart from Golden Egg, which costs Rp 6,600.00 per piece.

I love the taste, it's sweet.. Crunchy on the outside, and soft and silky on the inside. It is a must try!!

I haven't been doing much this weekend, planning to hang out with some friends later on. But Sunday will be my 'sleep' day where I will do nothing but eat and sleep! Muahahaha.. I feel exhausted these past few weeks, must recharge my energy.

We'll see what next week brings for me, see you guys..

Bruised.. Literally.

Two days ago I woke up in the morning to find a bruise on my left arm, I have no idea how it got there. Can't seem to remember if I knocked my arm on something or if anybody pinched me. I have short term memory loss.

It actually looks worse than the pic, I swear!! And it's a bit swollen too.
Oh how I miss Zambuk at these times, used to love it when I grew up in Singapore.

I haven't got much update lately, just been going out with my bestie Ebong. And went to the gym yesterday, I tried out Hatha Yoga class. Oh God it was exhausting, my body is currently aching. But it makes me feel good, knowing that it makes a difference to my body.

And I almost had a blacked out, my visions went all blurry at one point I was afraid I was going to faint right there. But I took a deep breath, slowed down and got better. I guess it's because I haven't been working out much this past two weeks, so I have to pick up where I left off. And my deadline to Bali is in 4 weeks!! I have to start going to the gym 4 times a week from now on.

30 days to Bali and I still have 5kgs more to lose!!

Hope

Do you know that feeling when you're hoping for something or someone, hoping for a promise they made to you or just something they say they'll do for you? Hoping for something is exciting, especially when it comes into the real picture. And to have very high hope means that it's something that you really really really want. But when it turns out that all is fake hope, our expectation drops so far below and all we feel is disappointment.

We will surely have doubts when that person promises something else, especially when it's not the first time they broke their word.

How are you suppose to deal with it? Make him keep his promises by asking him all the time? Or just pretend you don't remember, while deep inside you're still hoping for it. Or just simply forget it and don't take his promises seriously anymore?

Men thinks women are hard to figure out, but please it's not like it's easy for us to figure you out too!

But please don't think of this blog as a feminist act, it's just what I'm currently sorting out in this head of mine. Hehehe..

I forgot to charge my camera, can't take more pictures yet these few days to post here. I'll be sure to charge it tonight!! *imprint on my brain*

Happy Couples

I have a huge crush on Orlando Bloom, ever since I watched Lord of the Rings : Two Towers. I know Legolas is a weird character to have a crush on, but I have no regrets whatsoever especially after watching the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. God he is soooooo sexy. But what I love the most is when I googled 'orlando bloom miranda kerr', it's like I'm looking at the most perfect couple in the world. All pictures of them either cuddling, kissing, holding hands, hugging, smiling, laughing. It's all the expression you can imagine with the person you love.

That gives me hope that maybe one day I will find that kind of partner, the one that can make my life worth living. It's sad sometimes when you think of people having a serious relationship or getting married to each other for such a long time, but have never been given flowers or chocolate from their loved ones. They lost the meaning of life. I once heard, you have to treat your loved ones like it's the last time you'll ever meet them each time. Because then you will cherish them with all your heart, and treat them the way they deserve.

But difference makes life, not everybody gets to experience what others experience. Each person has their own role to play in life, and I guess I'll just have to see where mine leads to.

By the way, last Saturday night I was hanging out with my best buddy Eby a.k.a. Ebong at J. Co, Mall of Indonesia. I had the liberty to take some pictures during our wait there. I didn't get a good picture of her though because she was sitting in the dark corner of the room stressed out about waiting. Hahaha..

Problems are the essence of Life

They say that running away from your problem isn't the best solution, you have to face your problems in life to make your life peaceful. Or else eventually it come crawling back to you, however long and however far you try to hide from it.

But sometimes, there are problems with no solutions at all. Problems that you don't know why it became a problem in the first place. And sometimes, the best way to deal with that is to simply forget it. Although it isn't easy, but all you can do is try and just let it go. Because however hard you try to figure out the solution, there just isn't anything you can do about it.

Right now I'm in an intersection of my life, thinking of which way to go. I know one thing, all roads lead to the same place. But it's the path that I choose to live through that will make me who I am, what I am. But I have to believe in myself to choose the best path, the path that will lead me to happiness.

Tomorrow is a new week! I have yet to post any pictures, you have my word that my next post will have pics! =D

Cold Morning

What a cold morning..

This morning I struggled to get out of bed. The weather was so comfy that I have a hard time picking myself up to get ready for work. I love rainy nights =P

I got my bikini package yesterday afternoon!
It was nice, but one of them is too small for me. So I decided to sell it to my friend, and buy myself a bigger size early next month before I leave for Bali. And I might consider getting more than just one more pair of bikini, it's gonna be a vacation full of beaches! =D

*UPDATE
I forgot that one of the bikinis I bought that was too small for me was a free size, and I couldn't get a bigger size although I love the pattern so so much =( too bad..

Ideal World

I love that quote. It describes the perfect morning for people. Having a hard time waking up in the morning nowadays, even though I have a proper sleeping schedule. Maybe I'm just too tired thinking about all though things that bug my mind, it's energy consuming.

It makes me think, how is an ideal world for everybody else? All people have different thoughts, I haven't really actually thought how an ideal world would be like to me. I guess sticking with Zooey's quote will do for now.

I've been having a hard time controlling my appetite in the evening too, damn it's affecting my diet. I have to reset my target and start concentrating on my diet again before I leave for vacation to Bali next month. =D

I ordered two bikinis from Bikinii Hollic shop in Facebook, located in Tebet. She has ton of collections of bikinis and swimsuits. My eyes have been on a american flag bikini, with boxer bottoms. It looks so damn cool! And another one is a ordinary tankini with star stripes, I think I'll have to order at least 2 more pairs before I leave for Bali. Tee hee!

And I watched Taken 2 last night with a friend, it was cool. And Liam Neeson's voice is so sexy, sometimes I wonder if he's faking it to produce that kind of voice for the whole movie. Which reminds me so much of Aslan from Narnia, voiced by Liam Neeson too. =P

Feelings..

Feelings are nothing more than feelings..

Sometimes I wonder how a simple 'feeling' can make your whole world turn upside down. It can make your bright world seem gloomy, and it can make your colorful life seem dull. I know I'm being dramatic but it is true isn't it?

For many people, getting pass a certain 'feeling' or 'emotion' isn't all that easy. And one of that particular person would be me.

Let's just say that feeling is 'longing'. God it sucks the life out of you. You can almost always feel that 'longing' digging through your soul, clawing out every bit of happiness inside of you. Just when you feel like you've almost reached a point of happiness, this God damn 'claw' destroys everything it sees. Planting misery and sadness along the way.

I used to think, 'Just when you think you've reached the lowest point in your life, it gives you back in a way you never expected.' I wasn't wrong, but I missed another counter-act of that theory. 'Just when you think you've reached the highest point in your life, it brings you crawling back down even deeper than you've ever been before.' That is life.

Sad but true, I'll have to leave it at this now. Sorry for the gloomy post, but I really can't think anything much right now. Although I am psyched to go to Bali and visit my sister next month, but that will be another story.

No post for past 3 months..

Dear Readers (if there are any),

This is me posting an entry in my corner, after 3 months of absence just after starting this blog. I have been quite busy with work and life, guess I'll just have to give you a brief update about what happened this past 3 months.

I routinely go to the gym around 2-3 times a week, usually joining their Fit Ball class or Body Balance class which is my favorite. Can't really say it really is my favorite because I haven't really got the chance to try out every class. Some weekends in the gym, I still go for the Body Balance class. And quite surprisingly after 3 months of working out and dieting, I've managed to trim down 5 kg since before I joined Gold's Gym which would be exactly 3 months ago.

I could feel change in my stomach, waist, calves, and some butt. But still no significant changes on my hip, upper arm, and thigh (which is my priority). I hope more dieting and working out could help me reach my target body shape and weight. 7 more kg to go!!

As for my personal life, I had some good and bad experience over the past few weeks. I don't know where it's going to lead me, but I hope it all ends well. =D

And so far 21 isn't treating me that good. It proves the older you get, the harder your life becomes. I just have to endure every challenge there is like what Barney Stinson always say, "Challenge accepted!" =P

Posts will keep coming don't worry, and I might just start to add pics into my posts. Since I actually bought my Nikon pocket camera purposely to take pics for my new blog. Haven't put it to good use yet..
